photos by marta, of courseCIN took a day off Friday 8/18 to celebrate the wide publication and airing of our series on unsafe food called Danger on Your Plate. Ironically, we marked the occasion with a picnic feast that featured big joints of lamb and platters of burek, salad and cevapci.
The event was held at Hunter's House, a picnic facility in a wealthy part of town just north of the zoo where there were geese, cats, fish ponds and a monkey. We felt sorry for the little monkey which was tethered to a pole with a leash and a thick belt.
We took a fleet of taxis from the center of town to the park. Driving up, Miranda commented that she knew the neighborhood because her old boss used to have a house there.
"You worked for the mafia?" she was immediately asked.
"No, he was a foreigner," she responded.
Hmmm, that tell you about wealth in Sarajevo.
