Back in Backyard Barcelona

It's mid March and deep spring in Sarajevo. Trees are budding, birds are calling early in the morning and the air is silky clear. How odd to be reading about frost, ice and never-ending snow on the east coast back home. Today 3/18/07 my mother reports she has not left her warm bed all day.

But I was at Boki's for an outdoor supper. The roses and hyacinths are beginning to come out and we had a potato/pepper dish with salad and radishes and bread and wine out overlooking the city. It was gorgeous and fun.

And perhaps a bit premature. We did have to grab wool blankets from the house and wrap up to finish the wine comfortably. We must have looked pretty funny. Sarajevo is just another city when the weather is mild.
