Is something wrong with this pattern?

I had to bring a pair of pants to work this week to prove it -- American pants for women have zippers up the back.

An American colleague working for USAID is in town this week and asked about having a suit made by a good local seamtress, so we volunteered Dona, Miranda's mother who whips up pants and skirts and blouses from catalogs and pictures. But this client brought her own pattern and material.

Dona thought something was wrong with the pattern because the zipper went up the back. No, it's fine, I told her and Miranda.

"No, really," Miranda said, "how do you get them off?" It's never been a problem I told her. Your arms are long enough too.
