Walking round the tomb

Cross-shaped decorations on the ginormous (an official new word according to the latest Merriam-Webster dictionary) false doors had led to some people calling Cleopatra's tomb "The Tomb of the Christian." It's also known as the Royal Mauretanien Mausoleum.

The tomb is supposed to be especially pretty in spring when wildflowers grow thickly all around it. But all we found on the sweltering summer day we visited were Queen Anne's Lace. It made a nice picture.

After weeks mostly cooped up in the villa and a newspaper office walking around the tomb felt great. Lots of people had the same idea.
