The Fish Museum

It cost a dinar or about 80 cents to go into this little aquarium in Carthage. Museum entry is so cheap here, even with the one dinar extra that many charge to take photos. Residents and students pay even less.
Museums -- indeed all hotels, institution and shops -- prominently display the president's portrait but here there was also a paean to his perspicacity in seeing that Tunisia's marine heritage should be celebrated and studied and the aquarium and research center was beholden to him.
I didn't have high expectations but this was nicely done, filled with specimens dead and live and art about fish and the sea. There were happy kids all over the place.
