Wait at the Bridge

We didn't time our departure from Bizerte very well. We got stuck on the Moving Bridge for a half hour.

I told Zied that drawbridges are disappearing from the US. They just built bridges high enough now so the boats can go under them without any interruption to car or ship traffic.

Huge crowds gathered at the side of the bridge to watch ships during the time the ramp was up. And people got out of the cars and chatted. It was nice, except the whole experience gave me pangs of homesickness for Sarasota and the old Ringling Bridge to St. Armand's Circle.
