Meditation and Architecture

A monk contemplating the equisite buildings at the Grand Palace made me see how much the highly stylized designs of the architecture were blended with natural beauty like flowers and plantings in a way to help meditation and a sense of calmness.

Cisco was a little less impressed. "A little gaudy, don't you think?" he commented.

Gaudy? The gold maybe, but the delicate flowers? In the temple of the jade buddha I got caught up in the meditation vibe of the place and lost my tour: the 25 people or so left, and I missed it. No English anywhere on the grounds of the palace, downpour in the rainy season, but found them once I found my way out of the palace grounds and got a ride back to the hotel.
