It's eerie how Seattle's landmark seems to pop out at you unexpectedly no matter where in the city you are. I began to suspect there's really about seven of them in various locations. This weekend a big banner proclaiming 12 flew from the Needle -- and a lot of other buildings in the city. The Seahawks were in the playoffs (it didn't work out) and the 12 signifies that the fans are the last member of the team. Dorky, but oddly, Jennifer who comes from soccer-crazed Uganda understood and got into the spirit of football fever.
