BACK AGAIN TO BOSNIA

In the summer of 2012, I'm back in Sarajevo working with people who are good journalists and after all this time also good friends. My language skills are no better, alas, but I hang out with natives and internationals in the know. So I'm planning in this space to tell Bosnian stories to American readers, with my Bosnian friends free to call me out on errors or wrong headed interpretations. This is a fascinating area of the world and these are interesting times.

Afternoon coffee

Boris no longer lives in the Sarajevo flat we called Backyard Barcelona, but this has possibilities. He is squatting in a great aunt's Sarajevo flat  in a pretty neighborhood with gardens and cats. After work Thursday we went to the market and bought up raspberries, cherries, blueberries and melon then had fruit salad with honey, cherry brandy and coffee listening to New York fiction podcast of Tobias Wolff reading a short story by Denis Johnson. It was all so very civilized Boki donned a beret (actually it's Basque head wear). All in all it was a combination tea party and book reading.
