Learning Bosnian -- a religious experience
Our new editor John is struggling to pick up the vowel-deprived Bosnian tongue and get along in a city where he can't talk to people easily. He says that whenever he gets flustered he seems to break out in Spanish -- "Por favor!" "Grazias amigo!" Foreign phrases pop onto his tongue, "Arriverderci," "Cheerio!"
Basically, he groaned, "I walk around speaking in tongues."
