The story is that Mary rested at this spot to feed the baby Jesus and a drop of her milk fell on the red rock she was seated on turning it milky white. I mean, come on.
Many pilgrims were reading missals and taking pictures in the chapel. Mostly what there was to take pictures of were paintings of Mary breast-feeding. I kept wishing my sister Jo-Ann, a vocal opponent of the whole idea of the La Leche League, had been there.
