Lemon mint drinks and balancing shekels
Renee introduced me to what she called her favorite drink in the Middle East -- lemon-mint. There's a trick to getting the sour lemon balanced exactly with the fresh mint. This first attempt by the bartender at the Intercontinental Hotel in Jericho was a tad sour. But we tried again that night and asked for the addition of a shot of vodka. Well, that made all the difference, or anyway, we didn't notice anything sour.
