Outside the cloisters we come upon a man who runs up to the church building leaps up on a stone with a funny face and stands arms akimbo for a minute pressed against the stone. Then he jumps down.
What?
“Do you know the legend of this?” two young Bosnian girls, also watching, ask. They know and they explain. If you can jump up on the tiny ledge of the face stone and stand on it for 5 seconds pressed against the building, all your wishes will come true.
One of the girls demonstrates, leaps up, balances, but can’t hold the pose for even three seconds.
I figured that my wish to be physically fit without effort would have to come true BEFORE I could even attempt this feat to wish for it. I had a better chance writing a note to the Mary statue.
